A unique art exhibition in a glorious setting.

Set in a beautiful and interesting early Victorian country house and its mature wooded gardens in the midst of beautiful Albury Heath, the Fircroft Summer Exhibition 2011 brings together the work of more than fifty established and emerging artists from all parts of this country (and further afield). Fircroft is home to the artist Frank Taylor and his wife Christine who twice a year assemble and show a varied collection of paintings, prints, sculpture, ceramics, glass, textiles and jewellery. They choose works by artists whose work they know and admire.

This summer, in addition to the work of favourite previous exhibitors including eminent ceramic sculptor John Maltby, potters Pru Green, Daphne Garritt and Christine Bull, Yorkshire sculptor Steve Blaylock and jewellers Roger Elliott, Jane Angel and the Cloud 9 group, there are several exceptional new exhibitors. Paul Jones is showing his extraordinary paintings based upon the landscape and coastline of Dorset. Rutland-based painter and printmaker Angela Harding has a selection of her beautiful bird and wildlife images. Birds again feature in the ceramic forms of Anthony Theakston and the decoration of pottery by Kevin Warren, and wildlife is the subject of Nichola Theakston's exquisite ceramic sculptures.

George Hider from Somerset makes intricate farmyard animals in reclaimed steel and these will be on show in the gardens alongside sculptures in stone, bronze, glass and ceramic by Olivia Ferrier, Jo Jones, Darrell Evanes, Eric Duggan, Lisa Pettibone and several leading Zimbabwean artists.
